Gymwash was born in summer 2022. I was struggling with personal issues and turned to exercising 6/7 days a week. It was the best part of my day.

It made me feel good.

During a circuits class in peak August (read: absolutely sweltering) I noticed my gym t-shirt stunk a few minutes into the class.

You know when you wonder what that smell is, but deep down you know it's you.

Yep, that was me. I was confused.

It smelt clean after the wash? Had I done something wrong?

I finished my class, drove home and did some research. It turns out that regular detergents do a terrible job on activewear.

They use smell to mask the odours without actually removing them. They're also full of terrible chemicals that are bad for the environment and your skin - it's really bad.

Almost 8 months on, 100's of washes and many late nights. Here we are.
